Fatigue in breast cancer survivors
New treatment methods and early detection mean that more people survive breast cancer, but many survivors struggle with late effects from the treatment. Up to 30-40% of women are affected by fatigue, making it difficult for them to return to work. Despite the significant cost to both patients and society, little is known about the relationship between breast cancer, cancer treatment, and such late effects. The mechanisms by which fatigue severely impacts some while others are not affected are also very limited.
The PBCB material is well suited for studies where mechanisms of persistent fatigue are investigated, as longitudinal clinical, biological, and PROM data can be triangulated together. Applications on the subject are written as the ink splatters.
