About the center

The center has established and operates a number of projects related to research and quality improvement in brain health.

The Norwegian Parkinson Register and biobank is affiliated with the Center for Movement Disorders and aims to monitor healthcare services and contribute to quality improvement in the assessment and treatment of patients with neurodegenerative parkinsonism. Another important task is research on the causes and development of the diseases. The center also coordinates ParkinsonNet in Norway, which is an interdisciplinary network consisting of professionals with expertise in Parkinson's disease and atypical parkinsonism.

The Center for Movement Disorders collaborates closely with The Norwegian Parkinson Association and The Norwegian Dystonia Association. If you are a patient or a relative and wish for information directed towards your group, we recommend www.parkinson.no and www.dystoni.no.

The National Quality and Competence Network for Movement Disorders consists of representatives from all health regions and has a secretariat at the Center for Movement Disorders.
