Stavanger University Hospital offers excellent opportunities for both professional and personal development.

Anyone wishing to apply for a job must register their CV and application on our website.

Once you register you will be given a username and password. This will allow you to edit, amend and apply for multiple vacancies using the same CV.

You do not need to register your CV every time you apply for a job at Helse Stavanger​, but you must write a brief cover letter with each application.

We will not look at your CV until you have applied for one of the listed vacancies. You will be able to view details of vacancies you have applied for in the past.

Applicants must remember to:

  • ​​Include sufficient documentation of qualifications, work experience and licences on their CV.
  • Respond to the questions raised in the job advert.
  • ​You may include attachments such as certificates, licences and diplomas.

Our staff are our single most important resource. It is therefore staff policy to seek to achieve a balance in terms of gender and age and to recruit qualified candidates with an immigrant background.

The same criteria apply to foreign nationals as to Norwegian nationals:

  • You must be able to communicate in Norwegian both verbally and in writing.
  • You must produce a valid residence permit and work permit if required.
  • You must produce a licence to practice if required.
  • Criminal records certificate for positions where a criminal records check is required, such as positions working with children and mentally disabled people.
  • Proof of vaccinations.

General rules on residence and work permits:

  • EEA citizens (EU and EFTA) may register with the Norwegian authorities instead of applying for a residence and work permit. EEA citizens must register if they intend to stay and work in Norway for longer than three months. The registration scheme is managed by the Norwegian police service.
  • Citizens of the Nordic countries are automatically entitled to reside and work in Norway.
  • Non-EEA citizens must usually apply for a residence permit.
  • If you hold a temporary residence and work permit, you must notify your employer to that effect. Your permit must be renewed no later than one month before it expires. Forms for registering and applying for residence and work permits in Norway can be found on the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration website. Information about tax deduction cards and identity checks, required documentation and application forms can be found on the Norwegian Tax Administration's website or on the New in Norway website.
  • Once you have applied for a tax deduction card and undergone an identity check you will be issued with a national ID number or D number. You can find more information on the Norwegian Tax Administration and New in Norway websites.
  • You must have a Norwegian national ID number in order to open a bank account and receive salary payments.
