Our main objective for the future is to continue delivering health care services of high quality and availability, with the aim of contributing to good health and quality of life. It is a challenge for Stavanger University Hospital to master these tasks within the limits of our resources.
Due to demographics, Stavanger University Hospital has the largest increase in a population in need of health care compared to other regions in western Norway. One of our major challenges in the future is therefore to satisfactory meeting this increase in demand of services.
Several development projects are commenced or in the planning process. In 2006 a new Patient Hotel will open at SUH. The construction work on a new Acute Care Ward and a Regional Psychiatric Centre has started, and plans regarding a new building for children and adolescents with psychiatric problems will hopefully be realized in near future.
In order to increase the safety of our patients, enhance the efficiency of our work performance and better the information flow both internal and external, Stavanger University Hospital will introduce electronic journals for our patients in near future.
SUH will in the future also focus on safety and quality at the hospital. There will also be taken measures to improve the safety for both patients and employees. We believe this is vital in order to strengthen our reputation and to offer patients and relatives high quality health care services.
