The Chief Executive Officer of Stavanger University Hospital is Ingar Pettersen. Each division is lead by a Managing Director and consists of a number of departments, including clinics, units and national and regional centres. The two Support Directorates are Finance and Accounting, and Research and Human Resources. In addition to this is the CEO’s Staff, department of Public Relations and Communications, and Project Manager. The Board of Directors consists of nine people who are elected for a period of two years. Three of the members are employee representatives.

Stavanger University Hospital has a major focus on leadership development. Our notion is that great leadership is to show results through others, and the employees shall experience to be taken account of by being seen, heard and appreciated. 360 leaders from all levels of the organization have completed a Management Development Program with the objective of achieving good leader qualifications in favour of both patients and employees. The four main management qualifications are to be a role model, generate results, be innovative and have an overall perspective of the hospital and its functions.
